The 4.2litre GQ Patrol is no doubt a favourite amongst many 4×4 enthusiasts.
Finding a stock GQ in New South Wales must have been a task in its own right. The paint work needed some attention, but otherwise the vehicle, for its age was in very good condition.
The team from ARB Moorebank still had their work cut out for them getting this classic fourby ready to tackle the Aussie Outback.

Of course, when she rolled off the truck, it didn’t take long before we headed out for some local exploring to see what it felt like to get behind the wheel of an old GQ Patrol again. It was sensational, fitted with the new turbo, intercooler and exhaust and driving through the well presented five-speed box the Patrol was hunting for some action.
Mindful of the big trip ahead, restraint was put into place and we kept things pretty civil, but it was great to get behind the wheel of this 1991 Icon again and we’re sure she will be a hot favourite amongst the journalists coming over to take part in this upcoming adventure.
